Adam Broitman speaks about why brands fails on social media

Adam Broitman has recently written a beautiful article  on why so many brands are failing at social media. He says that In 2006, Podcamp Boston was a turning point in both my career and my general perception toward media and communications. It was an "unconference" that would spawn hundreds more of its kind. Although 300 people turned out that weekend to discuss the still nascent topic of social media, it would take years for brands to catch up. Fast forward to 2012. A lot has changed in the world of social media marketing, but brands still have a long way to go when it comes to fully demonstrating understanding of the notion of brands as social objects. Through real world examples, I will outline three areas that continue to stand in the way of brands that are attempting to acclimate to the new social order of communications.  इस देश में  आजादी  मिलने के बाद  विकास के नाम पर  बस इतना ही   किया ,   दूसरे मेहनत से जो कुछ बना कर चले गए  हमने उनका  नाम बदल कर रख दिया !  अंग्रेजों ने नायाब  विक्टोरिया टर्मिनस बनाया  हमने उसे क्षत्रपति  शिवाजी टर्मिनस कर दिया.  ना कोई सोच है ना ही कोई दूर-दृष्टी  इन के पीछे दस साल आगे का सोच नहीं  जो फ्लाई ओवर दस साल पहले बने  थे  वो शाम को  गली की तरह से संकरे लगते   हैं चमड़ी बहुत मोटी है कहने सुनने का असर नहीं  दूर दृष्टी है  और पक्का इरादा जरूर रखते हैं लेकिन यह सब अपनी जेब भरने के लिए करते हैं !! विक्टोरिया टर्मिनस हमने तो केवल नाम ही बदला है !

Last week I saw Sharmishtha Mukherji performing with her troupe at Nehru Centre, Worli, Bombay. Sharmishtha is a Kathak exponent but  experiment it with other folk or classical dance forms, it was quite evident from her performance.  She got her dance training  under three of the most prominent gurus - Late Pt Durgalal, Uma Sharma and Rajendra Gangani. She  developed a unique style; natural, spontaneous and full of joyous abandon over a period of time. Few years back, on the occasion of Indian President Dr Kalam’s visit to Iceland, her tour created sort of history. it was for the first time any Indian classical dance performance took place in Iceland. Her extensive travels and interaction with artists from different art forms at an international level has helped her develop an integrated approach to art and aesthetics, which is the philosophy behind her art. हर आदमी (इस में महिला भी शामिल कर लें) अपने बाथ रूम में सिंगर होता है, कई बार तो वो मजबूरी में   भी गाता है क्योंकि बाथ रूम की चिटखनी टूटी हुई होती है. गंभीरता के साथ बात करें तो हर इक बन्दे में एक गायक या डांसर छुपा होता है पर वो महज बाथरूम तक ही सिमट कर रह जाता है, हाँ कभी कभी दोस्तों की महफ़िल में या फिर शादी व्याह के अवसर पर यह हुनर  जरा सा जाग कर सो जाता है. लेकिन मानना पडेगा की मनोरंजन चैनलों  पर जब से डांस के रियल्टी शो शुरू  किये हैं तब से नयी प्रतिभाओं को एक संजीदा प्लेटफार्म मिला है. डांस इंडिया डांस को अब जी टीवी पर तीसरा साल  होने जा  रहा है. इसकी शुरुआत  २००९ की जनवरी में हुई थी . मकसद था कि बालीवुड, समकालीन, हिप हॉप, जाज, कलारिपट्टू, टेक्नो, साम्बा, सालसा, बेले   जैसी डांस शैलियों से देश की युवा पीढी का साक्षत्कार कराया जायऔर उनके बीच उभरती  प्रतिभाएं हैं उन्हें आगे बढाया जाय .  अन्य चैनल पर भी कई डांस शो चल रहे हैं लेकिन जितनी हाइप   डांस इंडिया डांस  ...

सबसे छोटे मगर सबसे ज्यादा पर्यावरण मित्र हिल स्टेशन माथेरान की  सैर माथेरान का सफ़र टॉय ट्रेन में   पहाड़ और घाटी  आब्जर्वेशन  पाइंट से प्रकृती का एक नजारा  माथेरान का रेल स्टेशन  लार्ड्स पाइंट से एक नजारा  दोस्तों, मैं सबसे पहली बार बॉम्बे १९७८ मैं आया था, इस शहर और इसके आस पास के इलाके ने कुछ ऐसा प्रभावित  किया कि मैं तो यहीं का हो कर रह गया. मेरे दोस्त अक्सर ज़िक्र किया करते थे कि यहाँ से सबसे करीब हिल स्टेशन माथेरान  है, सुन्दर है जरूर देख कर आइये .  मैंने  तब से हिंदुस्तान भर के हिल स्टेशन  देख लिए पर  इसका नंबर आ ही नहीं पा रहा  था . पिछले दिनों मेरा बेटा लन्दन से आया हुआ था, इत्तफाक से उसकी पैदाईश पहाड़ की है,  पहाड़ भी धुर उत्तर में सीमान्त इलाके में, जहाँ बॉम्बे से पहुँचने में कम से कम पांच दिन लगें और कमर की हड्डियाँ कीर्तन करने लगें . सो हमने सोचा कि उसे   बॉम्बे के करीब का पहाड़ ही दिखा दिया जाय. माथेरान सचमुच बहुत करीब है लोखंडवाला से अँधेरी...
