A new small budget film : Yahi To Pyaar Hai

Image
First a reality check :  The success of low-budget films is proving an important factor in the industry's growth. The film industry's revenue climbed 21 per cent from the previous year to Rs 11,240 crore in 2012, according to a report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and consulting firm KPMG. The success of low-budget films has also prompted big studios and production houses to take a new look at their business models. Until a couple of years ago, studios such as Eros Entertainment bet mostly on bigbudget films involving top actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Not any more. Of the 25-odd Hindi films that Eros plans to release, 12 are in the Rs 5-10 crore budget range. Viacom 18 says almost 80 per cent of its films in 2013 will be low-budget. Disney UTV Studios will have an equal mix of star-driven and low-budget films this year. If somebody  invest in a Rs 5-6 crore film and it does not do well, he will lose Rs 2-3 crore at th...

BEAT YOUR COMPETITOR THROUGH BETTER TECHNOLOGY

Image
Better late then never catch word can not work in tech industry. There were many companies doing very well at one point of. Time, but are hardly around now because they were failed to hop the bus. Some failed to keep up due to funds, while others never caught up because poor judgement and anticipate the competition. Yahoo was on a great run between late 90s to middle of 2000. That was the time when every one  who used Internet used Yahoo Messenger. At least once. It was favroite platform for instant messaging for almost everyone. Apart from simple chat , one could use 'chat rooms' , keep all the friends together and sharing files with them. Another excellent feature was video calling, though the video quality was poor if you compare with today but the innovation enabled people to stay. And then it fell to Google. Google fired the first salvo with Gmail by offering much bigger storage and bigger attachment size that too for free. Yahoo retaliated but by announcing 100 MB of sto...

Bollywood music has really transformed during past few years. Recent success of film music such as kai Po Che, Go Goa Gone, Ghanchakkar,  Ranjhana, Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani, Bhag Milka Bhaag,  Shudh Desi Romance bear this out. New singers, composers, song writer are changing the way music is created in Bollywood in the old time. They have brought fresh sounds, voices and language. Now the young breed of directors and producers is also using music more innovatively  in films. Apart from this , the way listeners are consuming music has also changed drastically. ofcourse there is a good news. there is more room for experiment now, no sticking to tried and tested, boundaries are being streched in terms of texture, craft, rendition and of course the voice. you may now find all music genres the spectrum is far wide. The gap between Indian and western is getting  steadily reduced, elements of South American, African to Arabian music is also richly utilized. Due to a n...
