It is really a pleasant surprise to visit Babul Nath Temple in South Bombay. Amid the skying touching concrete structures, it is an oasis of tranquility. In the nestle of very very old trees you can listen to chirping, humming of birds, a very rare sight indeed. From one corner of the temple you can look and feel serenity of mighty Arabian sea. Walk around 1500 steps from the main road connecting Huges Road to Marine Drive, you arrive at the steps of temple. If sturdy and young take  250 stairs leading towards the temple otherwise use elevater connecting the ground to temple. आज देखा जो उसको  तो ऐसा लगा,  जैसे मंदिर में जलता हुआ हो दिया.  उसने अपनी  जुबां से कहा कुछ  नहीं,  मैंने क्या सुन लिया और क्या कह दिया. पास  उसके रहा  कुछ पता न चला ,   बस यह समझो वक्त थम सा गया . इसको समझो बगावत या फिर बुतकशी,  उसको देखा  इबादत में  झुक सा   गया. जाम  पे  जाम  चलते  रहे  रात भर , बिन पिए होश अपना वो  ले के  गया . वो मेरे साथ  था पर मेरा ही नहीं , मुझसे  तकदीर  ने  खेल  कैसा  किया .....  

अँधेरी रात के बाद  उजाला है  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, गिराया   गिर के संभाला है    इसलिए  मैं  जिन्दा  हूँ, बारहा  टूट  के बिखरा  हूँ   इसलिए मैं  जिन्दा  हूँ, डूबा  हूँ  डूब के उतरा   हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, किसी की याद में महका हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, किसी की राह में  बहका हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, दिलों को छू के गुजर गया  हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, जन्नत जा के  निकल  गया   हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, मंदिर में  जाप भी  कर लेता हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ, कभी गुनाह भी कर लेता हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ. यह जो मैं  आँधियों  में खड़ा  हूँ   इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ.  यह जो मैं वक्त से लड़ा हूँ  इसलिए मैं जिन्दा हूँ.

I have recently had an occasion to visit Udupi, the town in the south-west part of  Karnataka and  situated about 58 km north of Mangalore and about 422 km north-west of Bangalore (sorry Benaluru ).    How Udupi derived its name is quite interesting. the name Udupi came from the combination of the Sanskrit words Udu and Pa, which mean "stars" and "lord." According to legend, the moon's light was once reduced due to a curse by King Daksha, whose 27 daughters (the 27 stars, according to Hindu astrology) were married to the moon. The moon prayed to Lord Shiva to get back its original shine. Lord Shiva was pleased with the moon's prayer and restored its shine.
