Globalization : Is The Party Over ? Few  years ago the leading economic and political weekly The Economist used a  term “Slowbalisa­tion” to describe the fragile state of international trade and commerce.  After the decades  1990s -  2000s the pace of econom­ic integration stalled in the 2010s, as firms grappled with the aftershocks of a financial crisis, a populist revolt against open borders and the past US President Donald Trump’s trade war. The flow of goods and capital stagnated. Many bosses postponed big deci­sions on investing abroad: just­in­time gave way to wait ­and­ see. No one knew if Globalization faced a blip or extinction. Book Read : The Founders-The Inside Story of PayPal and the Entrepreneurs Who Shaped Silicon Valley  - Pradeep Gupta  I have just finished an interesting book titled  ‘The Founders-The Inside Story of PayPal and the Entrepreneurs Who Shaped Silicon Valley’ written by Jimmy Sony. It is an interesting read. My take away from this book - if you have to progress and stay far ahead of your competitors than you need  the great Technological Institutions more than the religious places.  During late nineties few  enthusiastic young people from these top grade universities in USA changed the entire technology and finance scape and helped their country to be far ahead of  other nations.  You already know about the global entity PayPal , this company had played  a big role in making change the way we make financial transactions . Thé Récent Read : Novel - ‘Widow Land’ by C. J Carey  This is    a remarkable dystopian novel by C. j. Carey, I recently picked it up from the Harrow Council Library. It hooked me since the very beginning. I was simply captivated by the alternative history of England in the novel, which imagines    what could have happened after WWII if Germany had won and ruled over other countries in Europe, specially England.  The plot of this novel woven in  LONDON circa    1953.  Thirteen years have passed since England surrendered to the Nazis and formed a Grand Alliance with Germany. The festivities of summer solstice begin here in London. It is the celebration of the longest day of the year, falling this year on June 21 - marking the return of brighter evenings or us all. Also known as midsummer or the estival solstice - boding well for anyone who suffers from seasonal affective disorder (SAD) or is wanting to soak up some extra vitamin D. In the entire northern hemisphere, the summer solstice takes place between June 20 and 22 each year. In UK we all enjoy    16 hours and 43 minutes of daylight. The sun compel us to rise very early as it rise at 4.43am and helps to celebrate the summer as it set at 9.22pm.
