How To Be Safe At The Time of Data Theft and Data Breach

Governments on all habitable continents have been caught snooping on their citizens. No matter where you are, there’s a reason some government agency would want to monitor you. Sometime it may be needed for securing borders but all the time it may or may not. Apart from Governments, there are private organizations, who try hard to obtain personal information of people and sell it for monetary gains. No matter how safe you are with your personal data, it’s not safe from government snooping. Some of the Anonymous hackers involved in data breaches of Stratford, HB Gary Federal, Sony, and PayPal used temporary laptops (similar to a drug dealer’s burner phone) and kept all info (including the operating system) on USB drives, and they still got caught. If these tech experts were tracked, even with all of their advanced techniques for evasion, then you don’t stand a chance. We are living in the future, and our actions are being judged by anyone with the money to access and analyze it. K...

Lab Grown Meat Will Be A Game Changer To Protect Environment

There is a perennial debate on the merits and demerits of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. But a recent report released by United Nations definitely goes heavily in favor of vegetarian food. It says that people must adopt a more plant-based diet to protect the environment, with taxes on meat helping to deliver the shift in habits needed. United Nation's Global Environment Outlook (GEO) report recommends to grow meat in laboratories which can reduce the impact of live stock production, which accounts for 77 per cent of agricultural land globally. It further emphasizes that an emission tax on food could be transformative in reducing the greenhouse gases and loss of wildlife habitat linked to eating red meat. It quotes evidence that imposition such tax can save one billion tonnes of carbon-di-oxide-equivalent next year and deliver significant global health benefits 'due to reduced consumption of meat. It is interesting to note that beef generates at least six times the g...

Many of us are familiar with Bitcoin, a type of digital currency also known as crypto-currency that operates independently from a Central Bank. But this is also a fact that most people are not familiar to the tech behind that system. It is called Blockchain. There are many different blockchains, can be broadly summerized in two categories : 1.Public 2.Private They allow anyone to send value anywhere in the world where the blockchain file can be accessed. Think of each chain as an online database stored in a distributed, peer-to-peer fashion. The storage devices for the database are not all connected to a common processor and each block—ordered records—has a timestamp and a link to a previous block. The technique called Cryptography ensures that users can only edit the parts of the blockchain that they “own” —by possessing the private keys necessary to write to the file. It also ensures that everyone’s copy of the distributed blockchain is kept in sync. A recent World Economic Fo...
