Pipligaon After visiting tribal dominated Pipligaon village of Maharashtra’s hilly area Jawhar of Thane district only 3 hours away from city of Mumbai , it appears that even after 66 years of independence, children of this area are devoid of education. The government is there only in the form of corrupt police officials, Patwari, Tehsildar and other state government employees. There is not a single school in the 10-12 villages in the vicinity of Pipligaon. Being in the rough hilly terrain, there is no mode of conveyance for the children of these villages to reach Pipligaon to attend school. Despite of all these odds, Children of poor farmers, labourers, tribals in this area are keen to study. They walk upto school barefooted and in bare minimum clothes.
