Future of Tribal Children Brightened with Determination of Youth
Pipligaon
After visiting tribal
dominated Pipligaon village of
Maharashtra’s hilly area Jawhar of Thane district only 3 hours away
from city of Mumbai , it appears that
even after 66 years of independence, children of this area are devoid of education. The government is there
only in the form of corrupt police officials, Patwari, Tehsildar and other state government employees.
There is not a single school in the 10-12 villages in the
vicinity of Pipligaon. Being in the
rough hilly terrain, there is no mode of conveyance for the children of these
villages to reach Pipligaon to attend school. Despite of all these odds, Children
of poor farmers, labourers, tribals in this area are keen to study. They walk
upto school barefooted and in bare minimum clothes. Realising this problem a
retired school teacher Nana
Champaner converted his small house in a hostel for this children and arranged food
and books with his pension funds.
Suddenly the scene changed. A young man Kiran Lele with his
few friends visited the school with intention to distribute textbooks and
notebooks to needy tribal school children. He was very much impressed to see
discipline and dedication of these children and decided to do something more
for them. There was one gentleman named Deepak Eknath Badgujar among the group
of young people accompanied Lele, he
works for Vasai based Anton India Ltd he announced donation of Rs80,000 on behalf
of his Austria based http://anton-par .com.
Thereafter the construction work for hostel about to be started. News of this
good deed spread in Vasai, another Vasaikar Vinayak Milind Vartak, who is in
a important position in well known
global software company Accenture came forward and a much bigger plan
initiated.
Now with the help of Kiran and Vinayak a well equipped
hostel for tribal children has become reality. Cost of education and food of
children from nearby 8-10 villages is borne by these young philanthropists.
Recently, a function was organized in Pipligaon to
commemorate three years of construction of hostel. Vidyadhan Yuva Mandal of
Vasai distributed reading material to the hostelers and honored Avinash Maali
who stood first in class 10th. Sandeep Gholap is an official of Indian Oil at Worli, he was chief guest at the function, and came to represent his boss Satish Pathak, he was quite impressed to see this
initiative.
The point is very simple, if people with honest intention come forward to help lesser privileged people, face of india can be changed.
