Outdoor advertising in London : Selective, Creative and Not So Annoying
After seeing bombardement of filth in the name of outdoor advertising in Mumbai , it is very pleasant to move around London as this city has very strict rules to preserve its heritage and keep the road uncluttered. While despite of clear court strictures regarding unauthorised display of subtle and not so subtle outdoor political advertising, all roads and crossroads are cluttered with बाढ़ दिवस शुभेछा billboards of non-descriptive samajsevak to nagarsevak to mla, mp to minister. Just opposite , billboard display is very selective and confined to very few areas in London.
But the best part is , whatever places are available you can hardly miss. Underground stations, underground trains , side panels of underground stations’s escalators are loaded with advertisements , these options caters effectively as majority of people uses underground and buses , the ad messages reach to the target audience .
Selective bus stops also carry advertising. Digital display screens on the high street pavements are widely used by the advertisers.
For large digital display the main area is Piccadilly which definitely has largest footfall of tourists round the year competing with Times Square New York . But good thing is, other prominent areas do not have such excessive load of large display of screens.
