Pub Culture of London : Queen’s Head Pub
मुसाफ़िर हूँ यारों : Queen’s Head Pub
Pubs have a very special place in cultural tradition in Britain. They have been the focal point of the community, intellectual conversation, political discussions and of course enjoyment. In his 17th-century diary Samuel Pepys described the pub as "the heart of England".
I came across one such pub close to our place called The Queen’s Head. day before yesterday, it is Pinner’s oldest Inn. Records show that an Inn has been on the site since 1540, and a cellar date back to the 12th Century. The pub was known as the Crown Inn until 1715 when it was changed to the Queens Head because Queen Anne used to change horses here when riding between Hatfield and London. The attractive decor includes exposed wooden beams and panelling.
This pub is a traditional ‘Real Ale Pub’ and CAMRA Pub of the Year 2015 and most recently ‘Green Kings Pub Of The Year 2018’, serving 6 permanent real ales and 2 guest ales which are changed weekly. There is also a wide selection of white, rose and red wines, as well as a range of popular and premium vodkas, gin, whiskies and other spirits.
Here food is also good ! Freshly cooked and good size portions. Their carrot & coriander soup is almost like home cooked and their chips goes well with drinks.
