Lebanon is one of the oldest region linked to wine making. It is a historical fact that Prophet Hosea around 700 years before Christ told knew about wine making.He said to his followers to blossom as the vine and spread fragrance like the wine of Lebanon. The old tradition revived during 1990.

Aurora vineyards is a boutique winery located in the village of Rachkidde, North Lebanon and it’s Vineyard are located near the villages of Sourat, Helta, and Boxmaya.

It was established in 2002, but the Gearas family has been growing their own vines in mountainous vineyards covering an area about 2.3 hectares since generations.

Aurora vineyards are at the height of 850 meter and surrounded by hills densely planted with olive and oak trees, and overlooking the Al Jawz river and the Mediterranean Sea.

Aurora Vineyards’s wines embody the complex and unique characteristic of batroun mountain terroir.

The soil of the Vineyard is a mix of clay and limestone, laying on a limestone rock. So the grapes’ roots infiltrate the rock retaining all the water and nutriments.

The winery claims that expressed mineral element can be find in their wines. And it is true.

The area of winery’s vineyards receives incredible number of 300 days of sun. The growing season experiences a daily temperature that varies between 25 to 30 degrees. This provides Aurora’s vines with ideal temperature conditions to mature.

The family, with the support of the village members produced refined boutique wines that are known for their elegance and complex structure.

Aurora Wines are bright, fresh, and velvety, and expresses the microclimate and terroir of its origin.

Aurora produces rare wines with a production of 10,000 bottles a year.

The winery stores white wines in inox tanks and bottled after malolactic fermentation. This process helps to produce fresh and elegant white wines expressing the mineral essence and fruity aromas that are specific elements of the terroir.

Their red wines are aged 9 month in american and french oak barrels. This adds elegance and roundness to our rich flavored red wines, bringing a more robust and complex structure. Their red wines have a long ageing potential..
