It is named after Suvla bay where it is located , it is on the Aegean coast of the Gallipoli peninsula in European Turkey, south of the Gulf of Saros.


It is a family owned wine producer and viticulture company located in Eceabat along the Çanakkale Strait also known as Dardanelles in the historical Peninsula of Gallipoli.


Owner Selim Zafer Ellialti worked in a variety of different enterprises, including the IT business, decided to make wine. Seriously make wine. In 2003, while he worked as general manager at Microsoft, he was responsible for the Middle East and Africa region, he and his wife, Pinar, created The winery. First, the couple Pınar and Selim Zafer Ellialti planted 44 acres of vines and named ‘Bozokbağ’ at the first harvest in 2006 after their newborn son Bozok.


Located on the outskirts of Eceabat, the winery has good ambience , it also has a fully functional restaurant; and their Vineyard is 13km into the countryside overlooking the shimmering Aegean Sea to the west and the beautiful Sea of Marmara in the east – endorsing the benign maritime climate.


Suvla crafts wines subtle yet rich in character with elegant and exquisite finishes to complement an extensive range of dishes. These wines exhibit great character as they are situated in a spectacular geographical setting and on a land full of history. In this historical region, the relationship between vines and soil has been going on for centuries.


Focusing on quality and working with a specialized team and most up to date sophisticated infrastructure, Suvla winery processes high quality grapes using state-of the-art technology and know-how. This modern style winery also houses a traditional olive oil mill as well as a facility to produce natural agricultural products.


You know that soil, sun, wind, and history play the key role in the success of a vineyard. Since the beginning of vine planting at Suvla , as years went by, the impressive terroir yielded very high quality grapes. Today the region has become the center for high quality boutique vineyards. The Ellialti family vineyard is organically certificated and surrounded by pine trees, with the intense smells of resin and lavender in the salty seaside air. The hardpan soil and the northwest winds, also plays the perfect environment for the maturation of high quality grapes. Nestled in the historical Peninsula of Gallipoli, the 90 hectares of organic vineyards produce a wide variety of vines. The whites include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne and Marsanne, and the reds include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Grenache Noir, Petit Verdot, and Pinot Noir. The indigenous varieties Kınalı Yapıncak, Karasakız are unique to the Thrace region and others are Öküzgözü and Boğazkere.


In the Suvla winery, for the consistent success, a painstaking approach is taken in the vineyard and in the winery. The harvest is always at dawn break and the grapes are sent to wineries cold rooms rightaway to ensure their characteristics have been preserved.


The winery is only 3 to 14 km away from the vineyards, which makes it possible to obtain ultimate quality chateau style wines. Suvla winery boasts 5200 square meters and also houses a traditional olive and natural agricultural products processing facility as well. Focusing on quality, working with leaders in all equipments and with latest technologies, the winery has processing capacity of over 600.000 bottles, incorporating state of the art technology and knowhow


After harvest, the grapes are held in cool rooms for a short period of time before being processed. The winery layout has been configured for gravity-flow processing, and has a capacity of 950,000 bottles per year. Temperature controlled, state-of-the art fermentation equipment allows for precise control of the must and modern maturation vessels ensure optimum aging. Selected wines are aged in different types and sizes of oak barrels for the premium labels.


Though comparatively a young brand , Suvla has been awarded by prestigious organizations for its quality, great density and rich character with elegant and exquisite finish. At present, Winery has around 40 labels of premium and ultra premium labels to satisfy different tastes.


Suvla’s production is one of the highest with an over 850,000 bottling capacity. Suvla’s more than 30 labels are displayed at stores in Istanbul, Ankara, and Bodrum, also exported to US, UK and other countries.
