Pehla Kadam - Baby Step in the field of Investment

Image
I had an opportunity to attend grand finale of Pahla Kadam, an initiative to educate the investors by CNBC Awaz alongwith AxisDirect, SBI Mutual Fund. It was good opportunity to read the mind of Fund Managers of leading MFs at a common platform. They tried to impart the right knowledge to the viewers, empowering them to make informed decisions about their investments. Whether it is Navneet Munot of SBI Mutul Fund or Arun Thakural of Axis Securities, they agree that there is a historic evidence that  investment cycle   normally run for seven years, for two three years market will move upward, one or two years goes steady and then it shows the downward trend. So whenever there is an downward trend the investor should not panic, it is right time to invest because the market will recover after few months. Another tip from the Fund Managers  is to be patient. One should hold his investment for few years only than it will give good return. He should not try to sell hi...

Mumbai 25th March 2018 While technology has made life more comfortable, there are certain areas where it has threatened the basic business model. Music industry world over is struggling due to new technological disruption. The physical music business has almost disseminated in the wake of free availability in the virtual space. Physical release of music is now a very rare phenomenon. So what are the options left before the artists ? Stage performances, concert tours are among the few options left to monetize the music. And even otherwise the classical forms of music are overshadowed by the popular bollywood stream. With this back drop, NGO Madhu Murchna is doing good job to bring talents on a single platform and giving serious music lovers to enjoy classical and folk music. This year Madhu Murchna organised 2 day program Rooh-e-Ghazal at Rang Sharda in the Bandra on 23rd and 24th March in association with Films Today and Department of Culture. It was really heartening to see hou...

Vedas are other name of 'the sacred knowledge'.The vedic literature is organized into four segments, viz. : 1.  Rigveda , the Vedas of the verse 2.  Samveda , the Vedas of songs 3.  Yajurveda , the Vedas of sacrificial Text 4.  Atharveda , so named after Atharvan, the mythical priest        of the past ages.        Upnishads are  theological and philosophical reflections about the essential nature of things. They are also called Vedanta, literally meant - end of Veda, the final goal of the Veda, because it was, as a rule, located at the end of the Brahmana. Upnishads are also literally called 'confidential session' with the teacher, later meant as 'secret lore' because it used to be imparted to the pupil towards the end of the period of instruction.  The Isa or Isavasya Upanishad proclaims loudly the philosophy of non-dualism or Advaita, declaring God or Brahman to be the sole inhabitant of everythin...

Quick Fact Checks : I ndia has world's 2.4 per cent land  But has to Feed world's 17.7 per cent population. We presently  have almost 35-40 per cent of our population lives at urban centers It is estimated that by 2025 60 per cent of  our population will live at urban centers With this kind of migration urban food security is becoming a matter of serious concern and urban poverty is reflected in the nutritional status of people. So what is the best solution ?  Urban farming, especially out of the box methods will show the way out. It should use space in and around the urban boundaries. Many cities across the globe are adopting Good Practice Urban Agriculture, it includes farming, fishery, poultry, horticulture, forestry and live stock development. In this model, land unsuitable for use as 'built up' space such as steep slopes, wetland, land cover, and aquifers can be utilized for agriculture purpose. Ancillary spaces along the railway tracks, high...
