Sunsilk Real FM
There are lot of films in the past which had in film branding, that means in simple language that certain brands are placed in such a way in the movie that looks as a part of story and viewer can hardly miss. But this promotion of brand business through movies has gone a step further when a music channel MTV whose contents are hardly music based anymore has commissioned prominent directors of Bollywood to produce movies which promote the brand based on brand philosophy. The first in the series is Sunsilk Real FM, based on the brand philosophy of HUL’s brand Sunsilk which represents the confident young lady of today who scripts her own story and has been directed by Akarsh Khurana, a talented upcoming protégé of Anurag Basu.
The movie's preview was specially arranged by Sunsilk and Indiblogger for bloggers today simultaneously in Delhi and Mumbai. Clearly, it is a kind of recognition of bloggers' growing influence on digital space as opinion makers.

The story revolves around 22 years old Rhea, the protagonist and her three friends who help each other
out in achieving their goals. Rhea is
happy go lucky and loves her friends. Her Dad, who runs a FM station,
suffers a heart attack because his entire staff threaten to leave station on a day when he was planning to make a presentation before the investors. In the wake of an emergency, Rhea takes it upon herself to turn things around that too in a short span of 6 hours. Along with her
two friends she not only saves the station, but also brings about a welcome
change in the programming. Her Dad, who experiences the great work put in by
his daughter and her friends through a live broadcast of the show, couldn’t be
more proud.
The film is also a kind of satire on the way music and other contents are catered on FM Channels. This also suggest how a FM channel can transform and touch life of city dwellers by bringing music of cultural diversity in the mainstream and sharing common people's aspirations. The way regional and folk music is interwoven in the story line, its flavor reminds MTV Coke Project.
This is Akarsh's debu venture, he has developed Anurag Basu's story into a beautiful film about, confident girls, and the camaraderie they
share. The script is so strong and the characters have been used in such a way that viewer hardly has time to think that the entire cast is new.
Another brownie point about the movie : although it is made to promote a brand Sunsilk, but done in such a subtle way that it will not irritate the viewer. We shall wait for such feel good and insiring low budget movie where director has not to bother about commercial aspect much.
