Steve Jobs! You will Live in Memory of Tech Geeks forever

Death news of Steve was not shocking to me at all, this brave man was fighting with his cancer from last so many months, he knew it well but he still fought with all odds and even in those unbearable pains he tirelessly worked on new gadgets with same zeal and passion. No, he was not a pass out from any top educational institute, he was almost a college dropout, which in most of the societies are treated as useless, incapable person. But his passion to create, to be different, adding aesthetics to most common technology gadgets has given him name, fame and ofcourse lot of money. his journey to success was not a cakewalk, full of filmy twists, hated and envy by his own colleagues, sacked and again taken back by his own company, storyline for any hollywood or bollywood blockbuster. It is difficult to understand his success without his unusual life story. Thinking different came from the circumstances of his upbringing : his was a misfit, raised by adoptive parents offspring of Syrian immigrant father doctorate in political science and mother master in speech. Difficult life taught him few lesson of life :
1.extraordinary persuasiveness2. constant risk taking3. rare quality of deal making4. fierce perfectionism
Alongwith Steve Wozniak in 1976, Jobs found Apple Computer on April Fool Day, within three months they come up with personal computer which they start selling at Palo Alto in California area at a local computer store for $666. Rest is the history, Macintosh, IPod, I Phone, I Pad each one in their segment far ahead of the competitors. To me the real secret of his success was understanding the need of his target customers and provide a product looking like a piece of art, easy in navigation, providing the best possible in features, it was very difficult for his competitors to imitate or come close to his product. His ten commandments may not be imitable for most of the Management Gurus, but he could deliver because of that :1. Go for perfect2. Tap the experts3. Be ruthless4. Shun focus groups5. Never stop studying6. Simplify7. Keep your secrets8. Use more carrot than Stick10. prototype to the extreme He failed on number of occasions, accused of cannibalised his own products but he did not look back, sit idle after failure involved in the next product with much more passion and focus.Probably that was his secret ! In fact, for generations to come, he will be source of inspiration in terms of putting aesthetics in technology and raise bar in terms of user friendliness as well as delivery.
