Bollywood Masala Rab Ne Bana Dee Jodi

Aditya Chopra Jee Please Note That Bollywood Lovers Are Matured
Yeh Jo Film Rab Ne Bana Dee Jodi (RNBDJ)Banai Hai Bahut Unconvincing Lagi
We have little curiosity about RNBDJ as Aditya Chopra returned to direction after eight years. It has come in the guise of a sweet, simple love story but it flawed at script level. It is not believable that heroine Taani (Anushka Sharma) cannot recognize her moustached husband Surinder Suri (Shahrukh Khan) when he gets into clean shaven flamboyant persona of Raj.
Let us look the story line of this movie. Heroine Taani's fiancé dies in a bus accident. The incident put her father (M.K.Raina) on his deathbed. He begs her to marry his favorite student Surinder Suri who is now an official of Punjab Power. Surinder secretly in love with her. Taani's dispassionate face hardly shows any sign of grief either for her fiancé or father. Suri in the meantime understand fully well that Taani will not fall in love with her. He joins Nach Baliye type dance contest garishly styled by Bobby (Vinay pathak) as loud Dil Phenk Jat boy Raj. A twist come in the story. Taani is also in the contest, Rab ki marji made them dancing partner! After initial hesitation to continue, he acts to see that what Rab has in store. By now Taani is so much influenced by Raj that she is prepared to run with him. Strange twist in the story, in the back drop of Golden Temple a day before he elopement with Raj, Taani sees Rab in her husband Surinder.
Performance-wise Shah Rukh Khan is convincing in the role of Surinder Suri, he appears genuinely sweet, especially as he secretly smiles, lips pursued. However, looking at his growing age, the character of flamboyant loud Jat does not suits him. Anushka Sharma is saddled in a weak character so she may not be able to do much but she has potential to act. Vinay Pathak in the character of Bobby is really funny especially when he delivers his macho theory.
Full marks goes to Salim Sulieman for their composition Hole Hole and Dance Pe Chance. But their medley song Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte is humdrum despite good picturisation, impressive sets and guest appearance.
Cinematographer Ravi Chandran captured best of Amritsar as well as Golden Temple.
This movie could be a worth if script would have been properly worked filling loop holes.

Totally agree on your review. Infact Aditya Chopra's craft is deteriorating by the day. Could nt actually revive the magic of Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge again. Both his movies were very week as compared to DDLJ.
