Bollywood is Now Synonym For Indian Diaspora

Image
Now a days, lot of efforts are being made to establish something synonym to Indian abroad, that includes Narendra Modi,Yoga et al,  But the fact remains that  Bollywood is strongest identity of Indian diaspora abroad. And when we talk about Indian diaspora, Pakistanis , Bangladeshis, Nepalis also proudly  associate with this  Bollywood magic. Last year, I was in Kent and visited Nan and Curry , a restaurant owned by a Pakistani. I stayed there for an hour. There was  display of  lot of posters of old as well as new  Bollywood Hits in the dining area. All the songs played on its system were Bollywood hits.  Even the Mediterranean restaurants in US cities also follow the same trend. Yesterday, I was at Garlic Crush, a popular Mediterranean food place, every second or third song played on their music system was a Bollywood song. Today I was overjoyed to see Bollywood Popcorn, a brand developed by Trader's Joe  a chain of organic food in US...

It is now possible to manipulate elections

Politico magazine reported in 2015 that Robert Epstien,  Research Psychologist at American Institute of Behavioral Research and Technology conducted a research to understand whether new technology available in the market place can influence elections. His research leaves little doubt. It says that the biggest search engine Google has the ability to control voters. The impact of viewing biased rankings repeatedly over a period of weeks or months would undoubtedly be larger. In Robert's basic experiment, participants were randomly assigned to one of three groups in which search rankings favored either Candidate A, Candidate B or neither candidate. Participants were given brief descriptions of each candidate and then asked how much they liked and trusted each candidate and who...

New Super Food Quinoa

Image
I came to know about this wonderful super food for the first time on my 2013 visit to USA. In fact my daughter Iris as well as her family friends are enjoying it since long and reaping the benefits. People of modern time forgotten Quinoa, it had been a fundamental food source for thousands of years in Andes, it has made inroad to kitchen shelves now in 21st century. Quinoa actually belongs to the same family as the sugar beet and spinach! This is referred to as the goosefoot family. Botanically, they’re very similar. So quinoa isn’t really a grain at all. It’s actually a seed. but cooked like a whole grain. It is praised by modern nutrition experts as king of all super foods for its superior protein composition and content, as well as its fiber and iron. Moreover it is free from gluten. Its quick cooking quality further contributed to is surging popularity. Its leaves are also eaten in like spinach in South American Countries such as Chile, Bolivia. It is easy to cultivate as...
