Yes, We Can Reverse The Aging Process

Everyday, no matter what our age or current health status, we have  two clear choices :
We grow older
or
We grow younger
I mean quite literally. I found many people who do not see aging as a choice-they think they have no control over, just like the passage of time.
But believe me all of us have a choice in the age of our bones, our muscles, our internal organs and even our skin.
We can decide if we want to spend  our days feeling vital, energetic,, healthy, and joyfully use our body to exercise, travel, play with our grand children-or if we wish to confine to a life of joint and  back pain, limited mobility, and lack of physical strength that keep us sitting on a bench and watching others to do the things we once did.
The difference between the two extremes is our mindset and a matter of 30 minutes a day that is all !
Do you know you also possess the power to determine your body's true age. The choice is absolutely yours.
Simple, allow the aging process to take over, or actively counter the aging process.
As far as me, I like that kind of deal. I plan on staying young forever (or as close to it as I can manage!), and I hope you do too.
I would like to crack some myths linked with aging.

Myth No. 1 : Our brain grow only until we are in our twenties-and then they start to die.
Truth           : Neuro-scientists have proved that as long as we stay mentally active, our brains can actually keep growing and adding brain cells into our twilight years ! The miracle is brain plasticity, and most powerful booster of brain plasticity is EXERCISE.

Myth No.2 : Our metabolism slows down when we hit 40.
Truth          : If we do absolutely do no exercise, yes, our metabolism will start to take a hit at 40. But in past 25 years study after study proved  that people who consistently exercise three times a week can completely avoid age related metabolic slowdown and actually retain the same metabolism as people almost 40 years younger.

Myth No. 3 : Our skin will inevitably age and wrinkle-our only defense is good genes
Truth           : There are many factors which impact on the health of our skin. Sun exposure can be countered with sun-screen.
The amount of free radical free activity can be countered with a fruit and vegetable rich diet packed with free radical-fighting anti-oxidants. The impact of gravity on the skin's elasticity and firmness can be lessened with plenty of fresh water, enough deep sleep, and you rightly guessed it- exercise.
Recent research found just 3 months of exercising twice in a week  can restore the skin of 60 year old sedentary folks to same state as that of a 20 to 40 year old !

Myth No. 4 : Our muscles inevitably fade away with each passing decade.
Truth           : Of course, if we do not use it, we will loose it. But if we do use it-meaning, if we engage our muscles-we do not need to loose a single ounce of muscle.
A study at University of Pittsburgh looked at a cross section of 40 recreational athletes aged 40 to 81 who exercised four or five times a week. They underwent MRI scans, body composition testing, and quadriceps strength testing : the researchers measured their muscle mass and the amount of fat under their skin and between their muscles. they found that with exercise, the athletes could retain exactly the same levels of the lean muscle mass from their forties into their eighties-in fact, some of the older exercisers had even more lean muscles than younger athletes.

Myth No.5 : Our joints are destined to fail.
Truth          : Our joints fail not from age but from mis--management. If we learn how to protect our body from intense impact by learning to walk gently, pay attention to range of motion in our training, and learn the proper way to supoort our joints with flexible muscles, our original joints-the ones we are born with!-should remain healthy until our very last day.

Myth No. 6: Everyone gets cancer/diabetes/ heart disease eventually.
Truth          :Study shows that upto 34 per cent of cancer risk is directly attributed to life style choices. Every pound of weight loss lowers your risk of Type 2 Diabetes by 16 percent-so loosing just ten pounds could reduce your diabetes risk by 60 per cent. *2 per cent of heart disease and heart attacks in woman can be attributed to smoking, not exercising, being over-weight or taking high glycemic-index diet.

Remember that life is a powerful source that does not surrender quietly. It fights for every second of survival. Yet time moves steadily and slowly forward. We have to keep vigilant and not let ourselves age prematurely, despite the movement of time. You do have choice provided you commit yourself to daily exercise. Time never stops so neither can we.

To remain feeling youthful, we must choose to prevent cell death.
To remain feeling youthful, we must choose to prevent atropy.
To remain feeling youthful, we must choose to prevent poor  posture.
Doing nothing is a sin of omission rather than commission. Doing  nothing is a choice too let your body decay before its time. Doing  something is thee choice to stay vital, healthy and youthful.

Yes, we are born with DNA that gives us a vague expiration date. But what we are not born with the quality of life we will have between birth and death. The quality of our lives is where free will and the element of choice come in.
To slow down and reverse the signs of aging requires us to show a minimal amount of discipline by participating in half an hour of daily exercise. That's it !
So decide from today onward, we have to activate the force of life within us, and that force will respond a thousandfold.
Believe me, the smallest movements will turn on the mitochondria and start the fire of life.
The smallest movements will start the fountain of youth flowing throughout our veins.

   Life is programmed to live
   Life is created to live
   Life does not surrender easily.
  We can be strong
If we choose to be strong
   We can be energetic
   We can be pain free
   We can be independent
And if we choose to be independent
If we choose all that we must choose to move
Mantra is that we must choose to exercise.
